NDC supporters massing up at EC's head office; as party challenges results from Ashanti, Volta and others
By Dorcas Osei
The largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress
is challenging the Electoral Commission final collation figures from the
various regions of the country some forty (40) hours after polls.
Dr. Kpesah-White indicated on Joy News some hours ago that
huge discrepancies have been detected at the EC's Strong Room.
Citing that, figures from Ashanti have more than 300,000
votes added to President Akufo Addo's figures.
The NDC collated figures 1,485,370 for the NPP but the
certified one is showing 1,795,824 while the NDC has 698,519 collated but the
certified copy has reduced to 653,147.
Also, in Volta Region, the NDC party collated 665,508 for
the NDC but the certified has reduced to
606,508 (49,000 reduction) while the party collated 90,481 for NPP but the
certified result gave them 100,481 (increase of 10,000) for the NPP
This situation has infuriated the supporters of the party
who believe John Mahama has won the elections but the rig plotting to rig the
elections results in favor of the incumbent President and are gathering
themselves at the EC's head office.
The crowd there is getting thicker and huge security
presence.
More soon...
